The first prefabricated bathrooms were manufactured for the 1972 Olympic Games in Germany. Varis launched its production of prefabricated bathrooms six years later.

Today, the company is one of the leading manufactures and developers of sustainable prefabricated bathrooms in Europe. They are installed in the most prestigious hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, prisons and apartment buildings.

Varis is a development-oriented company with its own registered research group and is a recipient of many awards, recognitions and certificates of excellence. The prestigious Red Dot award for industrial design, among others.

15% SHARE IN THE GERMAN MARKET

The majority of prefabricated bathrooms are sold abroad, mostly on the German market, where our 15% market share makes us one of the major manufacturers of prefabricated bathrooms. Our excellence is also recognised in Austria, Switzerland, Croatia and Slovenia.

We work together with various institutions, construction companies, architecture firms, hotel chains, healthcare and social institutions, and investors.

  • A new hall for producing prefabricated buildings and an additional photovoltaic plant on the roof.

  • Discontinued the radiator production line.

  • Modernised and optimised the 1,400 m2 Development and Logistics Centre.

  • Management of the family business taken over by the second generation, Sabina Sobočan. New business premises acquired for production, sampling and control of new products developed in-house. Investment made in the first photovoltaic plant.

  • We received the prestigious RED DOT Design Award for the Memory radiator.

    2015

  • Celebrated 35 years of operation and opened a new concrete plant.

    2013

  • A new subsidiary VARIS TOP started its production and assembly of stylish and tubular radiators, concrete elements for skateboarding and pump tracks.

    2008

  • The VARIS MONT subsidiary was established.

    2005

  • Celebrated 25 years of the company and 50,000 prefabricated bathrooms delivered. The first VARIS Fertigbäder subsidiary opened its doors in Germany.

    2003

  • Start of co-operation with the strategic partner Poseidon from Germany.

    1994

  • The new VARIS company Proizvodnja sanitarnih celic was established.

  • Start of co-operation with the strategic partner Compact Bad from Austria, and first prefabricated bathrooms exported abroad.

    1989/1990

  • Reorganised and transformed into DO Gorenje IMO. We manufactured prefabricated bathrooms, expansion vessels and radiators, insulation material made of polyurethane foam, and assembled mechanical installations, insulation and ventilation systems.

  • Peaked in terms of operation and number of employees.

    1985

  • The VARIS basic organisation of associated labour established within the Gorenje Varstroj.

  • The first prefabricated bathroom manufactured outdoors; the first production hall opened at the end of the year.

    1977
