LIGHTWEIGHT PREFABRICATED BATHROOMS

UP TO 100 KG LIGHTER

In the construction of buildings, investors today pay attention to weight in terms of sustainability, and so there is increasing demand for lightweight prefabricated bathrooms. Due to their lower weight, these bathrooms are suitable for buildings with reduced load-bearing construction and in projects using a builder’s hoist with reduced load capacity.

SUITABLE FOR:

Buildings with reduced load-bearing construction
Buildings using a builder’s hoist with reduced load capacity
Buildings awarded a sustainability certificate

LIGHTWEIGHT PREFABRICATED BATHROOMS:
MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY

WHY ARE LIGHTWEIGHT PREFABRICATED BATHROOMS MORE SUSTAINABLE?

Lightweight materials often require less material for production, and that is why lightweight prefabricated bathrooms contribute to reduced consumption of natural resources and reduced volume of waste disposed in landfills.

Transport is also more environmentally-friendly. For example, a 10% reduction in vehicle weight may reduce fuel consumption by 6 to 8%. This results in lower carbon dioxide emissions and enhanced sustainability of construction projects.

WINNING LIGHTWEIGHT TECHNOLOGY

The frame of a lightweight prefabricated bathroom is made of a hot dipped galvanised steel structure. It is clad with plaster, cement, composite or other boards. By applying new elements and composition, the mass of construction has been reduced by approximately 100 kg.

Standard wall thickness is 75 mm. Walls are clad with plaster fibre or cement boards of 12.5 mm thickness, while the shower cubicle is lined with cement boards.

The execution of cladding with dry wall depends on project requirements regarding moist zones prescribed by standards, e.g. W1-I, W2-I according to DIN18534. The prefabricated bathroom floor is made of SCC concrete with a mass of 2,200 kg/m3. The exterior walls of the bathroom are treated by the client.
