Dr Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, at the 45th anniversary of Varis

Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, attended the ceremony of the 45th anniversary of Varis. In her address, she highlighted the significance of the active presence of Slovenian enterprises on international markets and the pursuit of innovation, hi-tech development and the green transition.

The President also emphasised the importance of employing young people at Varis: “We must not forget the impact of family businesses on numerous local environments where they are considered important employers. In particular, this is relevant in context of the decentralisation of Slovenia to help provide for the uniform economic development of Slovenian regions. As a society, we must strive to turn the attention of young generations away from the capital city or even foreign countries, and make them seek interesting employment opportunities in their regions, and in this way stay in Slovenia.” She also acknowledged active participation of Slovenian companies in development projects in the local community and their focus on sustainability.
