Motivating the young to pursue an engineering career

Varis is a proud supporter of the “Inženirke in inženirji bomo!” (We Will Be Engineers!) initiative and the Inženirka leta (Female Engineer of the Year) project. This is why Varis is strongly engaged in events inspiring girls to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics, because the young – both boys and girls – need role models.

The co-operation and support of established female engineers and business leaders is important in overcoming the obstacles associated with engineering professions. One such woman is our director Sabina Sobočan, who participated in the event titled “Da bodo razprle krila!” (To spread their wings). She joined a group of female managers, experts, engineers, and students hosted by the US ambassador in Slovenia, Jamie Lindler Harpootlian, in co-operation with the Simbioza Genesis social enterprise.
